Open-access The Relationship Between Training in Intercultural Management and Perceived Academic Performance Among College Students.

This study examines the association between perceptions of intercultural management training and perceived academic performance among university students. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed. The sample consisted of 100 students from a public university in São Paulo, Brazil, who completed a structured Likert-scale questionnaire designed to assess perceptions of intercultural management training and academic performance across four dimensions: cultural understanding, academic performance, intercultural communication, and knowledge integration and application. The findings reveal favorable student perceptions, particularly regarding cultural understanding, intercultural communication, and the integration of knowledge into academic contexts. Opportunities for improvement were also identified in intercultural conflict resolution and the application of intercultural competencies to complex academic situations. The discussion indicates a positive and statistically significant association between perceptions of intercultural management training and perceived academic performance in culturally diverse university settings. It is concluded that favorable perceptions of intercultural management training are associated with positive perceptions of academic performance, adaptation to the university environment, intercultural communication, and academic integration. Strengthening educational strategies with a greater emphasis on the practical development of intercultural competencies is therefore recommended.
